SACRED SPREAD
Hexagram Spread
Two triangles form a star, showing timing, circumstances, and a way forward
About this spread
The Hexagram spread is made of two overlapping triangles. The upward triangle carries the flow of past, present, and future; the downward one reflects approach, surroundings, and inner feelings. All seven cards meet at the outcome in the center. It sees more than three cards but is simpler than the Celtic Cross, making it a favorite for recent trends, finances, or a complicated situation.
When to use it
Seeing the overall direction of a period, or a situation with many sides that three cards can't cover, without laying out ten
What each position means
- 1
The past
Where this began, and old influences still at work
- 2
The present
Your current situation and the lesson in front of you
- 3
The future
What may emerge soon if things continue as they are
- 4
The approach
The attitude and action most worth taking now
- 5
Surroundings
How people, environment, and outside forces pull on this
- 6
Inner feelings
Your real hopes, worries, and attachments about this
- 7
The outcome
The most likely result when these six forces meet
How to read this spread
Read the upward triangle (past, present, future) first to follow the timeline, then the downward triangle (approach, surroundings, inner feelings) to see the forces inside and out, and finally rest on 'The outcome' in the center. If the outcome card worries you, look back at 'The approach'; it often shows the step that can rewrite the ending.
